The Early Years Lab provides church planters with hands-on coaching, peer support, and practical guidance to navigate the critical early years of establishing a healthy, sustainable church.

How it Works

Approximately 3-4 hours per week. Engage directly in your local church's ministry activities, allowing you to learn through practical experience. This immersion helps you develop personally and spiritually by addressing specific growth areas.

Host Church Residency

Approximately 3-4 hours per week. Undertake self-directed learning through reading, watching, listening, writing, and practical application. This component ensures you integrate theoretical knowledge with real-world practice.

Training

Grow in Gospel Fluency, Everyday Discipleship, and Multiplication

Jesus invites every woman, man, and child to see how He is "good news"—for our past and future, and also for our present everyday lives. And He has equipped every Christ follower with different gifts to participate in disciple-making, mission, and ministry.

In addition to Saturate resources, The Equipping Group works with your group or church to host contextualized training* on topics such as gospel fluency, everyday mission, genuine community, creating a culture for multiplication, and other elements of disciple-making in everyday life.

* Multiple options exist to help training fit your needs and budget: online or in-person, one-time or multi-week, open or closed. Let's talk!

  • Though this is a development program for church planters, the end goal is not to manufacture church planters, but to help every participant better understand in what way their story and gifting fits into the mission of God. This happened for 100% of our cohort. My cohort brothers and their wives will be lifelong friends and partners of ours who are committed to the flourishing of our marriage and our ministry as we are to theirs. Now, pastoring a church in Eastern Europe that is currently planting another church, my wife and I bring up our thankfulness for these formative years often. Jesus cared for us and is caring for us still through this residency. - Dawson | Tacoma, Washington

  • My life looks different today ... I am in an unexpected place with an unclear future. Yet, I am hopeful because of how God prepared me through this residency. I am thankful for the godly men he introduced in my life. The coaching, mentoring, and support has been a source of encouragement. Soma’s residency is where church planters become shepherds and strangers become brothers. - Atanasio | Queretaro, Mexico
