  • “This was an unbelievable experience. Many times talks about generosity are so cold and unattached. This conference put warmth back into the conversation of generosity through story. It reminded me of the ultimate story that Jesus gave everything to be with us!”

  • “This was phenomenal and I’m excited to take it back to our church.”

  • “The material provided by JoG is truly inspirational, convicting, and life-changing!”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Go to the Journey of Generosity registration page to register the JoG. You will need to provide details such as the host, facilitator, date, and venue. This information will help generate an invitation that will be emailed to you and that you can forward to potential participants. Generous Giving will follow up to get JoG booklets and pens mailed to you in time for the JoG. It is all free of charge.

  • A JoG is about 6–7 hours. It can be experienced in different formats

    • Two-day, Overnight, Away from home. Evening first day, half day the next (4:00–8:30 pm on Friday evening, 9:00–1:00 pm Saturday)

    • Two-day: In a home. Same schedule as above, guests sleep in their own homes but meet in one.

    • One-day: Any location. Schedule is typically 8:30 am–4:30 pm.

    • Two-day: Two weekly missional community gatherings.

    • One or two-day: Whole church gathers, groups are at tables for discussion.

    Hosting a Journey of Generosity

  • Aside from a short sermon from Tim Keller, there is no teaching. There is facilitated discussion after watching a video, studying 2 Corinthians 9, or reading an excerpt from Richard Foster.

  • Absolutley! Anyone who has already experienced a JoG and who has been trained to be a facilitator can lead a JoG.

  • There is a two-hour online training, or Brad Jenkins of Soma Churches can train you in person or through Zoom.

  • Generous Giving provides resources to help you think through the entire JoG experience, from choosing a date, finding a location, and inviting and registering guests.

  • There is no catch or fundraising involved. A JoG is intentionally neutral. The JoG is designed to be a transformational experience for a small group (10–16 people) that focuses on the heart of generosity.
